David Welter

Commissioner

David Welter is a dedicated public servant and seasoned real estate professional with a deep-rooted commitment to his community. Appointed to the Illinois Executive Ethics Commission in 2023, David brings a wealth of experience from both state and local government to his role in promoting ethical practices in public service.

David served as a State Representative from 2016 to 2023, during which time he held the position of House Republican Conference Chairman. In this leadership role, he worked on important legislative initiatives, advocating for the people of Illinois. Before his tenure in the state legislature, he served as the Chairman of the Grundy County Board, demonstrating his passion for local government and community-driven solutions.

In addition to his extensive government service, David has made a name for himself in the real estate industry. He has been a realtor since 2018, and in 2022, he became the owner and principal broker of RE/MAX Top Properties. His understanding of the local market, coupled with his leadership skills, has earned him recognition as one of the top agents in the region. 

David’s diverse background, spanning government, business, and real estate, enables him to provide unique insights and foster strong relationships within his community. A proud father of three, he enjoys spending time with his children, traveling, and volunteering to make a positive impact on the lives of those around him.
