Ethics Act Decisions

The following are the decisions of the Executive Ethics Commission on cases where the Attorney General filed a complaint with the Commission for a violation of the Ethics Act based on an Executive Inspector General investigation.

If an Executive Inspector General and the Attorney General determine that an investigative report finds a violation that warrants a complaint, the Attorney General will file a complaint on behalf of the Executive Inspector General with the Executive Ethics Commission. The Executive Ethics Commission will hold a hearing, take evidence, and decide whether to recommend discipline or impose a fine. (5 ILCS 430/20-50)
