Paper SSEI Filers

Executive Order 15-09 “Executive Order to Ensure Ethical and Responsive Government”, requires certain officers and employees to file a Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest with the Executive Ethics Commission on or before May 1 of each year. Your agency has identified you as an employee or officer who is required to complete the Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest. Due to May 1 falling on a Sunday this year, completion and submittal of the Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest is required by May 1, 2024.

The Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest requires each filer to provide a series of three disclosures. As you complete the Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest form, please review the FAQ's for guidance on issues you may encounter. You may also wish to contact your Ethics Officer for guidance on specific disclosures.

You will be required to verify the truth and accuracy of your Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest upon completion. Kindly remit your completed Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest by May 1, 2024 to: Illinois Executive Ethics Commission, 401 S. Spring Street, Wm. Stratton Building, Room 513, Springfield, IL 62706 or by email to: EEC.SSEI@illinois.gov. Correction of any disclosures made in error after initial submission will be completed via a similar process coordinated between your Ethics Officer and the Executive Ethics Commission.

Remember, the Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest is in addition to the regular Statement of Economic Interest required to be filed with the Secretary of State. You should receive notice from the Secretary of State’s Office of the regular Statement of Economic Interest filing process towards the end of March. You will need to complete both filings.

Questions?

Your Ethics Officer is ready to assist in this process. If you have questions about your disclosures or believe you may have made an error but have already submitted your form, you should contact your Ethics Officer.

In addition, if you have not received a paper form via mail or you are unsure if you are an electronic filer, please contact your Ethics Officer prior to completing a paper SSEI form.
